Power Plant Cycling and Derating Analysis

APTECH engineers have performed several hundred projects to quantify the impact of cycling operation and derating on the life and reliability of electric power plants. A typical project begins with a detailed review of the plant's operating and outage records, followed by an on-site engineering examination of the plant to establish its current condition. This information is factored into a proprietary statistical analysis process which determines the economic impact of cycling operation and derating. Our results are used by the client to judge whether cycling or derating are feasible or if other power generation alternatives should be considered.

Our primary contact for matters regarding analyzing the economic and remaining life consequences of cycling, derating or running beyond maximum continuous rating can be reached at (408) 745-7000.
