Shopping Center Fire in Honolulu
A fire broke out in a small shopping center in a commercial district in Honolulu. The fire began in the ceiling of a fast-food restaurant and spread to the adjacent shops. Considerable damage was done, and faulty electrical wiring was blamed. APTECH was retained by the electrical subcontractor to investigate this possibility. To reconstruct this accident, we examined architectural drawings and electrical diagrams, reviewed a large quantity of documents and deposition transcripts, and evaluated the design of the electrical system. Also, other potential causes and original of the fire were investigated.
